Port Blair, May 24: The general public and consumers of Electricity Department have been informed that heavy rain is likely to continue in coming days and squally winds exceeding 40 Kmph shall be experienced as stated by Directorate of Disaster Management which may cause damages to the Transmission & Distribution systems. All the consumers, general public and Govt. Departments in A&N Islands have been requested to inform any incidents related to electrical faults like falling of trees / branches over the transmission lines, falling of electric poles and broken HT / LT lines on the ground or any kind of flash noticed in the T&D system to their respective Site Offices and Electricity Central Control Room (Toll free No. 1800-345-1111) or nearest Police Station immediately.

Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty wind (speed reaching 30-40 Kmph) is likely to occur at one or two places over Nicobar Group of Islands on May 25. Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty wind (speed reaching 40-50 Kmph) is likely to occur at one or two places over Andaman Islands  and thunderstorm with lightning and gusty wind (speed reaching 30-40 Kmph) is also likely to occur at one or two places over Nicobar Group of Islands on May 26. Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty wind (speed reaching 30-40 Kmph) is also likely to occur at one or two places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands on May 27 & 28.

Port Blair, May 24: The general public have been informed that, due to prevailing adverse weather conditions and inadequate night navigational aid at Shaheed Dweep Jetty, the schedule of the foreshore sector vessels to Swaraj Dweep via Shaheed Dweep departure from Port Blair at 1500 Hrs has been preponed to 1430 Hrs with effect from 25.05.2024.

Port Blair, May 24: The general public have been informed that due to prevailing adverse weather conditions, keeping in view the safety of the passengers and vessels the following amendments have been made by the Directorate of Shipping Services in the announced schedule.

MV SWARAJ DWEEP: The vessel scheduled for Vizag on 25.05.2024 (Sat) at 1000 Hrs from Port Blair and her return voyage from Vizag to Port Blair on 30.05.2024 (Thus) at 1000 Hrs has been postponed. Now, the vessel will sail for Vizag on 27.05.2024 (Mon) at 1400 Hrs from Haddo Wharf and will sail back to Port Blair on 01.06.2024 (Sat) at 1000 Hrs from Vizag. Passengers who wish to cancel their tickets due to above changes in announced schedule are entitled for full refund on cancellation.

Port Blair, May 24: The general public have been informed that as per the instructions of the Election Commission of India, a modus operandi has been evolved for receiving counting related information and complaints of the general public round the clock through Helpline Number 1950 which will be available for operation from 01/06/2024.
