Port Blair, Dec. 15: The week long Annual Geeta Gyana Yagna organized by Chinmaya Mission will be inaugurated by Director General of Police, Shri Devesh Chandra Shrivastav, IPS on 18th December at 6 pm at Mission Auditorium. Swami Abhedananda Saraswati Acharya, Chinmaya Mission South Africa will be conducting the Yagna.

Port Blair, Dec. 15: All left out Ration Card holders have been informed that the last date for e-KYC of Ration Card has been extended upto 29th February, 2024 for the benefit of the Ration Card holders.  The Department of CS&CA has initiated the e-KYC process of every member mentioned in the Ration Cards as per the directions of the Govt. of India. Hence, all the left out Ration Card holders (APL/PHH & AAY) who have not yet done their e-KYC due to any reason have been requested to contact any of their nearest Fair Price Shop along with their Aadhaar numbers and Ration Card to get e-KYC done for all the members listed in the ration card.

Port Blair, Dec. 14: To show case the cultural fabric, diversity and ethos of rural India applications have been invited from interested artisans, entrepreneurs/firms/individuals engaged in the following activities for allotment of space during Island Tourism Festival-2023 which is scheduled to be held from 26th to 30th December 2023 for 5 days at ITF Ground. The selected applicants would be provided open space of 0.82 sqm at a flat rent of Rs. 400/- for the five-day event after assessment of the diversity, originality & uniqueness of product/activity by a committee.

Port Blair, Dec. 15: Due to withdrawal of admission by a candidate under PwD category, a seat has fallen vacant for admission to Two Years B.Ed. Degree Programme in Tagore Government College of Education, Port Blair. Since no more candidates are available under PwD category, this seat will be distributed among the available candidates under common list of Category-V. The counselling for admission to this vacant seat will be held on Dec.18, 2023 at 9.30 am in the College.

Campbell Bay, Dec. 14: The “Pujit Akshat” reached Campbell Bay, the southernmost point of India's territory, in the Nicobar district of Andaman and Nicobar Islands on Dec. 13, 2023.
