Port Blair, Jan. 10: The Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services, Andaman and Nicobar Administration will be organizing a significant event to kickstart the Animal Welfare Fortnight observance in Isles. On January 14, 2023, at 6 am, a delightful and meaningful Pet Walk is scheduled to take place. This Pet Walk holds great significance as it symbolizes a collective celebration of Animal Welfare and companionship. The event will commence from Marina Park, extending all the way to Flag Point, encompassing a scenic and enjoyable route for the participating pet owners and their furry companions.

Port Blair, Jan. 10: The passenger/general public have been informed that in view of celebration of Vivekananda Mela at Shaheed Dweep, the Directorate of Shipping Services has arranged additional ferry service between Port Blair – Shaheed Dweep - Port Blair from 12th to 17th January, 2024, as per the schedule tabulated below:

12.01.2024 to 17.01.2024: Departure Port Blair 0800 Hrs. - Arrival Shaheed Dweep 0945 Hrs. - Departure Shaheed Dweep 1000 Hrs – Arrival Port Blair 1145 Hrs.

The general consumers and Government Departments have been informed that power supply will remain suspended at School Line area complete, School Line village and Minnie Bay on Jan. 11 from 8 am to 4 pm, in connection with carrying out of urgent repair work of damaged water pipeline by APWD in front of INS Utkrosh Gate.

Port Blair, Jan. 10: It is notified for the information of the General Public that the following Traffic arrangements have been made for all Rehearsal days in connection with Republic Day Function starting from 12th Jan. 2024 (Friday) onwards.

-The movement of all vehicular traffic shall be closed from R. K. Mission to Dharamshala Junction and from Scout Hut Junction to Girls School Crossing from 0700 Hrs onwards till dispersal of contingents.

Port Blair, Jan 9: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has taken up the issue of non-release of two month’s salary to teachers working in the education department under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, the Member of Parliament mentioned that teachers working in the education department under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan are facing severe financial hardships as they have not received their salaries for the past two months.
