Port Blair, Jan. 4: The Department of Social Welfare is implementing various welfare schemes for Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan). Andaman & Nicobar Disability Allowance Scheme is one of them. Under this scheme, financial assistance @ Rs. 2500/- per month per beneficiary is being provided as Disability Allowance to the unemployed Persons with Disabilities in this UT.

Port Blair, Jan. 4: Due to administrative reasons, the scheduled departure time of the vessel Nalanda for Chennai on Jan.6, 2024 at 1600 hrs from Port Blair has been preponed. Now, the vessel Nalanda will sail for Chennai on the same day i.e., on 6.1.2024 at 0800 hrs instead of 1600 hrs from Haddo Wharf. Embarkation of passengers will commence on Jan.6 from 0600 hrs to 0730 hrs.
