Port Blair, Dec. 11: The Regional Institute of Education, NCERT Bhubaneswar in collaboration with State Institute of Education (SIE), Port Blair is conducting ‘5 days Capacity Building Programme for School Librarians on Management and Modernization of School Libraries from Dec.11 to 15, 2023 at SIE, Shiksha Sadan Port Blair.  The main objective of the programme is to develop the Capacity of School Librarians in management and automation of their Libraries for easy and effective access of the users.

Port Blair, Dec. 11: The Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services distributed Nicobari fowl chicks and Vanraja chicks among tribal farmers in Katchal. This will help in significantly boosting poultry farming and improving livelihoods in the region.

Port Blair, Dec. 11: Passengers/general public have been informed that the vessel MV Kalighat will sail for Car Nicobar via Little Andaman on Dec.13, 2023 at 0800 hrs from Haddo Wharf and will sail back to Port Blair on Dec.14, 2023 at 1200 hrs directly from Car Nicobar.

Port Blair, Dec. 11: As per the communication received from Pondicherry University, the UG/PG examination schedule to be held from Dec.13 to 21, 2023 has been postponed and has now been rescheduled from Jan.10 to 20, 2024. However, the exam already scheduled from Dec.22, 2023 onwards will be held as usual according to the time table already circulated. Port Blair, Dec. 10: In a bid to address the challenges faced by candidates participating in the Forest Mazdoor Recruitment 2023, the Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Chief Secretary to provide daily one Additional Bus to aid Forest Mazdoor Recruitment Candidates for Rangat and return.

With the ongoing recruitment process extending until December 15, 2023, candidates from Port Blair who intend to reach Rangat are grappling with the unavailability of seats on State Transport Service (STS) as well as private buses. Because of this many candidates fear of missing the opportunity to reach Rangat on time, while others will have to pay a heavy amount to book private vans.
