Port Blair, March 24: The District Health Society, South Andaman under National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme observed the World TB Day today in the Auditorium of Govt. Tagore Collage, Port Blair with the theme ‘Yes, We Can End TB’ in coordination with the Directorate of Health Services. Dr. P. Lal, State TB Officer/ District TB Officer, South Andaman and Shri B. Nagendra, District Programme Manager, DHS (SA) were present on the occasion. Cultural activities on TB awareness were also organized.

Port Blair, March 24: As part of the General Election-2024, a voter awareness programme through the medium of ‘Sand Art’ was organized by the SVEEP team at Corbyn’s Cove. The sand Art depicted the message ‘Chunav Ka Parv- Desh Ka Garv’ with tagline ‘Nothing like Voting, I will Vote for Sure’ was created by the SVEEP team.

Port Blair, March 24: cVIGIL is a mobile application developed by the Election Commission of India (ECI) to enable citizens to report violations of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) during elections. The app is available for download on Android and iOS devices. To report a violation, users simply need to open the app, select the type of violation, and provide details of the incident, including location, time, and photographs or videos. The app also allows users to track the progress of their complaints.

Port Blair, March 24: As part of the preparations for the General Elections -2024, the Election Department, A&N Islands is organising series of training programmes for the personnel engaged in Election Duty. In this connection, the Second Round training for personnel engaged in Election duty for Port Blair Tehsil was organised today at the DBRAIT auditorium. The Returning Officer, ANIPC, Shri Arjun Sharma IAS, visited the training centre at DBRAIT Auditorium.

The number is 1950. Now, any citizen from any part of these Islands can call on the toll-free number with any query or complaint at any time of the day. Callers can enquire on subjects such as voter registration process, enrolled electors in the Electoral Roll can check the details of their personal information, Electors Photo Identification Card (EPIC), elections, voting dates, online registration, the Polling Station planned for them to visit on the Poll Day, to know the contact details of District Election Officers, Electoral Registration Officer, Assistant Electoral Registration Officer & Booth Level Officers and lodge a complaint by simply dialing the Toll-Free Number.
