Port Blair, March 21: In connection with the upcoming General Election-2024, an awareness programme for participation in the Lok Sabha Election-2024 will be held tomorrow (Mar. 22) at Lecture Gallery of JNRM from 10 am to 12 pm.

Port Blair, March 21: As per the tentative schedule, the Pondicherry University Semester Exam will be held in May, 2024 at JNRM, Port Blair Centre. The ex-students who have arrear papers may submit the exam form latest by 08-04-2024. For further information, the students may contact Examination Section.

Port Blair, March 20: U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Bertholf (WMSL 750) departed Port Blair, India, Saturday morning, and conducted two-day exercise ‘Sea Defender 2024,’ with the Indian Coast Guard (ICG).

Bertholf’s stop in Port Blair marks the first time a U.S. Coast Guard cutter has called upon the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Shri D. Ayyappan, CPI (M) A&N State Organizing Secretary has condoled the sudden demise of Shri Prem Kumar, retired Craft Instructor of the Education Department and resident of Prothrapore, Port Blair today (21.03.2024) early morning on the mainland. He was 61 years. His funeral will be held at his home town in Kerala on 23rd March, 2024. 

Port Blair, March 20: As part of the ‘Lok Sabha Election-2024’, the Chief Electoral Officer, Shri B.S. Jaglan, IAS, today visited the Govt. Press to oversee the arrangements put in place for the printing & supply of requisite election forms, especially ‘Postal Ballot’ and Ballot Papers as per the specifications prescribed by the Election Commission of India. The Director, IP&T, Dr. Jatinder Sohal was also present during the visit. The CEO visited Machine Section, Binding Section and Gazette Section, Offset Unit and interacted with the Staff manning the sections. He also saw the copies of the Gazette Notifications, related to elections, which were being printed during his visit. The CEO lauded the employees for their dedicated service in the printing of various election related materials.
