Port Blair, Nov. 20: The Department of Environment and Forests, A&N Islands had conducted written examination for recruitment to the post of Forest Ranger from 21.08.2023 to 10.09.2023.  The official answer keys for the written examination were uploaded online on 12.09.2023, inviting observations from the candidates regarding any discrepancies/objections. The responses of the applicants received within the due date i.e. 19.09.2023 midnight were examined and the final answer keys has been published online on 21.11.2023. No further correspondences on the above subject will be entertained in this regard.

Pot Blair, Nov. 20: The final merit list of candidates (category wise) for the Post of Driver (LMV) in the Department of AH&VS will be uploaded in the Departmental website https://www.ahvs.andaman.gov.in and in the Andaman & Nicobar Administration website www.andaman.gov.in on 21.11.2023. Further correspondence regarding certificate verification of selected candidates will be communicated in due course of time.

PBGKR in Association with ISMAT Celebrates Children’s Day with the Residents of Pranab Kanya Sangha

Port Blair, Nov. 19: Spreading smiles and sharing joy has always been our motto. With this motto and with an aim to make the not so privileged children of our society feel a part of our extended family, Port Blair Guru Ki Rasoi (PBGKR) in association with ISMAT – A Women’s Initiative, celebrated Children’s Day today at Bageecha, Port Blair.

The day was filled with learning and entertainment for everyone present at the venue. Starting with a yoga session by Yogacharya Shivani Singhkapath, wherein the participants were taught different forms of Yoga and breathing techniques; the day saw a series of events before concluding with lunch and gift distribution.

Port Blair, Nov. 19: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has raised urgent concerns regarding the challenges faced by the fisherfolk community in Baratang Island. In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, A&N, the Member of Parliament has demanded immediate action on several crucial matters affecting the daily lives of the fishermen.

The key issues highlighted by the Member of Parliament included:

Construction of Floating Fiber Jetty: The Member of Parliament emphasized the necessity of constructing a floating fiber jetty at Khari Basti Nilambur Ward No. 01 to ensure the safety of fishermen, who currently face the risk of crocodile attacks while accessing the blacktop road.

Port Blair, Nov. 19: The North & Middle Andaman District Open Chess Championship 2023 was concluded successfully at Pokadera Community hall, Mayabunder today. The championship was organised by the North & Middle Andaman District Chess Association (NMADCA) under the aegis of Andaman Nicobar Chess Association (ANCA).

Smti. P K Sandhya Prasad, Forest Ranger, Mayabunder Range was the chief guest for the opening ceremony who made the ceremonial first move on the top board to kick start the event in presence of organisers and office bears of NMADCA.
