Port Blair, March 21: A three (3) days training programme (March 19 to 21 March,2024) on "First Aid Fire Fighting & Disaster Preparedness" concluded successfully at the Fire Service Training Centre, Fire & Emergency Service (HQ). Altogether 152 individuals actively participated in the training sessions. The programme aimed to sensitize teachers, hoteliers, government servants, and the general public about fire safety and disaster preparedness measures.

Port Blair, March 21: A training-cum-interaction session for the Mobile Polling Teams constituted for implementation of Special Procedures for Voting by Absentee Voters in Senior Citizen, Physically Disabled and COVID affected/suspected category in the upcoming Parliamentary Election 2024 was conducted by the Office of the Returning Officer, ANIPC in the Tagore Govt. College of Education Auditorium.

Mayabunder, March 21: In pursuit to the ECI’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the participation of every voter in this monumental celebration of democracy, a Signature Campaign on the theme ‘Wall of Democracy’ was organized today at Mahatma Gandhi Govt. College, Mayabunder as part of SVEEP activity in the upcoming General Election to Lok Sabha- 2024.

The objective of organizing the signature campaign was to inculcate responsible democratic awareness and also to promote informed & ethical voting and amongst the students of Mahatma Gandhi Govt. College, Mayabunder.

Mayabunder, March 21: The additional first round training for Polling Personnel under Mayabunder was organized in the Zilla Parishad Commuity Hall at Mayabunder today. Shri Dilkhush Meena, IAS, District Election Officer, North & Middle Andaman inaugurated the training session. Speaking on the occasion, the District Election Officer briefed the Polling Personnel about their roles and responsibilities and asked them to take full advantage of the training session. He also advised Polling Personnel to remain in close contact with Sector Officers, District Election Cell and Tehsil Office, Mayabunder to clear any doubts.

Port Blair, March 21: The Chief Electoral Officer, A&N Islands, Shri B S Jaglan, IAS as part of the General Election to Lok Sabha-2024, today, visited the Media Cell functioning in the Conference Hall of Directorate of IP&T and interacted with the officials. The Director (IP&T)/ State Nodal Officer (Media), Dr. Jatinder Sohal was also present.  The District Level Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) for South Andaman and a Social Media Committee are functioning in the Media Cell for monitoring fake/paid news circulated through various platforms. He saw the facilities setup in the Unit and gave necessary directions.
