Port Blair, Dec. 22: CPI (M) Port Blair Area Committee has conducted door-to-door campaign and corner meetings at Haddo Ward No. 2 on 21st December, 2023.
Addressing a corner meeting at Lillypur, Haddo, on 21st December, 2023, D. Ayyappan, Secretary, CPI (M) A & N State Organising Committee criticized the central government for the growing unemployment in Andaman & Nicobar Islands. He said that the Modi government has failed to create any new job for the youth of these islands during the last nearly ten years. The BJP government has failed to solve various problems faced by the people of these islands like (i) deplorable condition of NH4, rural and urban roads, (ii) rising unemployment, (iii) frequent electricity cut, (iv) non-availability of sand, stone chips, metal (v) lack of teachers in the schools (vi) non-availability of specialist doctors and medicines throughout the islands, etc.

Port Blair, Dec. 22: In view of the recent increase in the COVID-19 cases across the country and the world and nominal rise in Influenza Like Illness (ILI) cases across these Islands, as a matter of abundant precaution, the general public have been advised to wear mask in the crowded places. All have also been advised to follow coughing/sneezing etiquettes, personal hygiene and social distancing, wherever applicable to avoid any complications.

Port Blair, Dec. 22: The Tourism Department, A&N Administration in association with Department of Art & Culture will be organizing the much-awaited Island Tourism Festival from Dec. 27 to 31, 2023. As a prelude to this grand event, the Marina Park and Amphitheatre, Anarkali will come alive with a series of enchanting cultural programmes by local artistes and artistes from Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre (EZCC) from December 23 to 25, 2023 from 5 pm to 8 pm.
