Port Blair, Dec. 20: Victory Youth Club has been organising sports and cultural events every year with an aim to imbibe good culture among the youth. This year the sports event was inaugurated on 19th Dec. 2012 by Shri John Robert Babu, State Yuva Congress President at a function held at Dairy Farm.
Addressing the gathering, Robert appreciated the efforts of the club to encourage healthy habits through sports and performing arts. He wished all success to the club.
Shri S Rama Rao, General Secretary informed the gathering that this sports event will continue upto 14th January, 2012 wherein various indoor and outdoor games like Badminton, Cricket, Carrom, Kabaddi etc. will be played in between the players of various clubs. The club has also arranged various competitions like Rangoli, musical chair etc. for women folks while fancy dress competition, quiz competition for children was also organised.
Shri K Mohan Rao, President of the club has informed that for last 10 years, the club is involved in arranging such sports events to promote sports in the rural areas and to develop healthy minds and body. The club will also be organising a Marathon race on 23rd December, 2012 from Dairy farm junction to Ranchi Basti-Lambaline and back.
Shri G Laxman, Cultural Secretary said that there will be cultural programmes during the Marathon where artists will be able to perform before the audience.
Shri Sabestian Tirkey, State General Secretary, Pradesh Youth Congress was also present on the occassion.
