Sir,
As you are aware that various universities in India are switching towards online examination mode due to COVID-19 Lock down situations, but the students of these Islands attached to such universities are under distress for unable to make a presentation for online written and Viva examinations, due to very slow Internet bandwidth available in these Islands.
It is pertinent to mention here that in Kerala one Class X student committed suicide recently (published in news channels), since there was no TV in her house and she failed to attend the online classes telecasted through Cable TV at a particular time slot. It is high time that the govt. of this union territory give the much needed support to such students, who have to appear various university / college / Board examinations.
That Sir, it is possible that the BSNL or NIC or Banks or any schools having dedicated high speed internet can spare their facility for such students for 02 to 03 hours at the time of examination and student can connect with their Laptop or computer and appear for the online Examination.
In this regard it is requested to look into the matter and takeup with A&N Administration and the concerned Ministry, GOI, to issue such directions.
Yours Sincerely
A reader
