Port Blair, Jan 19: The Andaman & Nicobar Police, in celebration of its Raising Day, organized a grand "Bada Khana" at the Police Line on 19.012024. “Bada Khana” provides a platform for all ranks of officers from constable to the DGP to enjoy a meal together, fostering camaraderie and celebrating achievements or important occasions. The event witnessed the presence of the Director General of Police and other senior officers, who interacted with all the ranks & files of the Andaman & Nicobar Police.

Port Blair, Jan 19: The Aberdeen Police Station’s dedicated team successfully cracked a challenging hit-and-run case through meticulous investigative work, leading to the apprehension of the Royal Enfield Himalayan motorcycle rider. The incident occurred on 17th Jan 2024, when the suspect fled the scene after colliding with a pedestrian near SBI ATM, close to the RTO Office.

In the evening of 17th Jan 2025, the Aberdeen Police Station received information regarding an incident in which an unidentified Royal Enfield rider recklessly hit a pedestrian in front of the SBI ATM near the Regional Transport Officer in Port Blair around 18:15 Hrs. The rider hastily fled the scene with the motorcycle after committing the crime. Promptly, an autorickshaw driver evacuated the injured person to G.B. Pant Hospital, where, unfortunately, the victim was declared brought dead after examination.

Port Blair, Jan. 19: As part of commemoration of first anniversary of naming of 21 Islands in memory of Param Veer Chakra Awardees, a Kavi Sammelan titled ‘Veer Gaatha’ will be organized by the Department of Art & Culture, A&N Administration tomorrow (Jan. 20) at 4 pm at National Memorial Cellular Jail.
