Port Blair, Oct. 5: Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Government of India is implementing three scholarship schemes for students with disabilities: (a) Pre-matric scholarships for Class IX and X (b) Post-matric scholarships for Class XI to Post-graduation (c) Scholarship for Top Class Education for Graduate/Post Graduate Degree/Diploma through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) (www.scholarships.gov.in)

It is brought to notice of electricity consumers and general public that Relays and CT Testing work at 33/11 KV Garacharma Sub-Station is scheduled to be carried out from 10.10.2023 to 16.10.2023. During the carrying out above mentioned work, the power supply will be affected from 10.10.2023 to 16.10.2023, between 0900 Hrs. and 1600 hrs. at the following area for a period of maximum one and half hour (1 ½ hrs.) on as and when required basis.

Port Blair, Oct. 3: The South Andaman PRIs held a meeting today with the aim of forming an association to address the issues of strengthening and supporting the initiatives taken by North Andaman. The meeting was highly productive, with participants engaging in fruitful discussions and outlining a plan for future action to safeguard the rights of PRI (Panchayati Raj Institutions).

Conclave Aimed to Promote Responsible Hospitality and Tourism in the Isles

Port Blair, Oct. 4: The Youth Wing of Andaman Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ACCI) organized a massive "Tourism Conclave" in the City of Port Blair on October 3rd, 2023 at Hotel TSG Emerald View. The conclave witnessed a robust gathering of representatives from hotel and restaurant industry from across Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

This conclave was organised with an aim to discuss and educate the audience on the various sustainable practices in the tourism industry and to act as a platform for collaborations and partnerships that aim to promote responsible hospitality and tourism in A&N Islands.

Port Blair, Oct. 4: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration to appoint a sufficient number of well-trained coaches for all the sports for children and youths of these Islands so that local sports talents receive professional guidance and training.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, the Member of Parliament said that children and youths of these Islands are exceptionally good in the field of sports. In recent times, these talented young individuals have demonstrated exceptional prowess, not only at the national level but also on the international level.
