Port Blair, April 3: Keeping in view the forthcoming Lok Sabha General Elections-2024 scheduled for polling on 19/04/2024 across these Islands, MCC has been rigorously enforced since 16/03/2024. PS Pahargaon has demonstrated unwavering dedication to ensuring the MCC is upheld in true letter and spirit. On April 2, the Excise team of PS Pahargaon conducted a series of raid at several locations under PS Pahargaon jurisdiction. These operations resulted in the registration of 4 Nos. Excise cases against accused persons Dilip Kumar Thapa, S/o Shri Chandra Bahadur Thapa, 40 yrs, R/o Brookshabad, Smti D. Bhavani, W/o Shri Anup Lakra, 31 yrs, R/o Dollygunj Shiv Colony, Thirupati Kannan, S/o Shri Rajendran, 28 yrs, Pvt. Worker, R/o Bathu Basti near Karpagam Hotel & Anil Kandulna, S/o Late B.S. Kandulna, 45 yrs, R/o Dollygunj near Shiv Mandir respectively resulting in seizure of 119 bottles of IMFL and 34 Kgs of illicit Handia.

Port Blair, April 3: With a steadfast commitment to preserving the sanctity and fairness of the democratic process and to combat the potential misuse of Short Message Services (SMSs) and various social media platforms during elections, a dedicated WhatsApp number ‘9531856083’ has been made available to the public by A & N Police, in consonance with the direction of Election Commission of India (ECI).

Port Blair, April 3: Under the able supervision of Commandant (IRBn) Ms. Shweta K Sugathan IPS, the Indian Reserve Battalion, A&N Police organized a splendid “Bullet Rally” aiming at promoting voter awareness and participation in the upcoming elections. Led by the Deputy Commandant Shri Naveen Kumar, the rally commenced from the IRBn Headquarters at Port Mout and traversed through several villages and areas, culminating at Wandoor, which includes Mithakhari, Namunaghar, Shaitankhari, Ferrajgunj, Ograbranj, Chouldhari, Sippighat, Nayashaher, Guptapara, Manglutan etc engaging with communities and spreading awareness about the significance of exercising the right to vote.

Roles & responsibilities of Presiding Officers and team manning Polling Booth for smooth conduct of Poll highlighted

Port Blair, April 3: As part of the preparations for the ensuing General Elections -2024, the second round of training for the Presiding Officers and the Polling Officers was organised at the Dr. B R Ambedkar Institute of Technology (DBRAIT) auditorium here today. The Presiding Officers & Polling Officers engaged in Election duty for Port Blair Tehsil attended the training.   Returning Officer, ANIPC/DC (SA), Shri Arjun Sharma, IAS, General Observer for ANIPC, Shri B.N Singh, IAS and other officials related to Election were present on the occasion.

Port Blair, April 3: The South Andaman District Police has demonstrated exemplary commitment to public service by successful recovery of 45 lost mobile phones registered in Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) Portal during the period 01/01/2024 to 31/03/2024 and ensuring its safe return to its rightful owners.

In recent incidents, the vigilant and dedicated staff of the South Andaman District Police identified and recovered lost mobile phones from various locations. Recognizing the importance of personal belongings and the valuable data stored on mobile devices, the police officers swiftly took action to locate the owners and facilitate the return of the devices.
