Port Blair, Dec. 20: Passengers/general public have been informed that, due to administrative reasons, the vessel Sindhu will now sail for Chennai in place of MV Swaraj Dweep on 31.12.2023 at 1600 hrs from Port Blair.  Passenger tickets for the sailings will be issued to the general public w.e.f. 27.12.2023 onwards. Passengers may book their tickets from DSS e-ticketing portal (https://dss.andaman.gov.in/ ShipETicketingWeb/Login.jsp) on all days from 9 am to 4 pm and from STARS Ticketing Counter in all working days from 9 am to 4 pm, except on Saturday from 9 am to 12 pm.  

Port Blair, Dec. 20: The Andaman Adim Janjati Vikas Samiti (AAJVS), an autonomous body conducted a Computer Based Test with the assistance of DBRAIT to fill up 05 posts of Tribal Welfare Officers. The Computer-Based Test for the post was conducted on 30/08/2023, in which, a total of 52 candidates appeared.

Answer Keys received from the Agency were published in the recruitment portal https://erecruitment.andaman.gov.in on 28th Sept, 2023 for inviting claims & objections of the candidates.

Port Blair, Dec. 19: The Member of Parliament, A&N Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has demanded construction of a dam over Karongnallah in the Billyground region.

In his letter addressed to Hon'ble Lt Governor, he mentioned that there has been a long-standing proposal for the construction of a dam over Karongnallah in the Billyground region.

He said that the PRI members of the area have reportedly moved this proposal multiple times, emphasizing its potential benefits for the people of the region.
