Port Blair, Dec. 12: The State President, Bharatiya Janata Party, Shri Ajoy Bairagi has penned a letter to Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor, A&N Islands and Chief Secretary, A&N Administration for conducting an impartial enquiry and provide adequate compensation from LG Relief Fund to Late G Rajesh Rao, who lost his life due to sheer negligence of Department of Health Service and Department of Environment and Forest while conducting physical test for the post of Mazdoor in Rangat.

Port Blair, Dec. 12: NABARD conducted a one-day workshop on Business Diversification for PACS Officials of A & N Islands yesterday in its office. Smt. Nandini Maharaj, IAS, Special Secretary-cum-RCS, A&N Administration was the chief guest on the occasion. In her address, she emphasized on creating Andaman and Nicobar Brand and packaging of products. Smt. Archana Singh, GM/OIC, NABARD welcomed the participants and urged the PACS Officials to take advantages of various schemes and programmes of NABARD for the betterment of PACS.

Port Blair, Dec. 12: One seat in Physics under Category V for admission to 2 years B.Ed. Course for the academic session 2023-24 in Tagore Government College of Education, Port Blair is lying vacant. The counselling for the admission to the vacant seat will be held on 15th December, 2023 at 9.30 Am. Interested candidates who are eligible for this vacant seat have been requested to attend the counselling on the date and time mentioned. If no candidates are available, the seat will be given to the next candidate as per the existing norms.

Port Blair, Dec. 12: ANIIMS has started a weekly Yoga session for all eligible pregnant women in the Gynae OPD (Opposite Room No. 20) of G B Pant Hospital, Port Blair. The session will be held on every Thursday for duration of one hour from 11 am to 12 noon. ANIIMS has collaborated with AYUSH Department to develop a model of integration of allopathic care with AYUSH in the hospital. The Yoga Instructors under the supervision of Medical Officer of AYUSH Hospital will facilitate, train and instruct the antenatal women, depending upon their duration of pregnancy and ability to exercise safely under the supervision of experts. All the women who are pregnant and attending the antenatal OPD have been urged to utilize this service, as this will not only smoothen the period of pregnancy but will also lead to an easy and comfortable normal delivery by improving the tone and flexibility of the muscles.

Port Blair, Dec. 12: The vessel MV Swaraj Dweep which sailed from Chennai is expected to arrive at Port Blair on Dec. 14 at 1700 hrs. She has on board, a total of 251 passengers & 4 Infants, 241 MT cargo and 20 containers. On arrival at Port Blair, the vessel will be berthed at Haddo Wharf and passengers will be disembarked immediately.
