Port Blair, Dec. 28: In exercise of power conferred under M.V. Act 1988 (Act No.59 of 1988) read with Administrations Notification dated 10th March, 2008, the District Magistrate, South Andaman District has notified for the information of all concerned that all vehicular movement are to be diverted for 30 days from 28.12.2023 to 26.01.2024 from St. Xavier School, Mannarghat to Sahara Village Organization (NRLM) via Forest Range Office, Mannarghat for improvement and widening of State Highway No. 10 from Wimberlygunj to Wright Myo under RCD, Wimberlygunj.

Port Blair, Dec. 28: The vessel Sindhu will sail from Port Blair to Chennai on Dec.31, 2023 at 1600 hrs. Excess baggage will be loaded from 1400 hrs to 1600 hrs on Dec.30. Excess baggage/cargo required to be booked in advance at Commercial Wing, DSS. Embarkation of passengers will commence from 1400 hrs on Dec.31. The embarkation of passengers will be closed one hour before the schedule time. Passengers reporting late will not be allowed to board the vessel.

Port Blair, Dec. 27: Hon’ble Lt. Governor, A&N Islands & Vice Chairman, Islands Development Agency, Admiral D K Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.) inaugurated the annual cultural extravaganza- Island Tourism Festival as the chief guest amidst fanfare at ITF Ground here this evening. The inaugural function was graced by the Member of Parliament, A&N Islands, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Chief Secretary (I/C), A&N Administration, Shri Nikhil Kumar, IAS, DGP, Shri Devesh Chandra Srivastva,IPS, PCCF, Dr. T.S Ashok Kumar, IFS, Adhyaksh, ZPSA, Shri Sanjay Kumar Singh, Chairperson, PBMC, Smt. S. Selvi, senior officers of Administration, PRI members and general public. This spectacular festival is being organized by the Tourism Department with the support of Department of Art & Culture, A&N Administration.
