Port Blair, Sept. 13: It has come to the notice of the Directorate of Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs that certain private cruise operators rendering services between Port Blair and Swaraj/Shaheed Dweep are selling packaged commodities on board their vessels to the passengers at a rate over and above the MRP printed on the packaged commodities.

In response to the growing importance of digital literacy and online safety, the Cyber cell of A&N Police conducted a comprehensive Cyber Awareness Program at Sagritara Secondary School, Prem Nagar, aimed at educating and empowering the students in the digital age.

Port Blair, Sept. 13: Due to insufficient booking of passenger tickets, the vessel MV Dering which was scheduled to sail for Swaraj Dweep on Sept. 16 & 17, 2023 at 0700 hrs from Port Blair and her return voyage on the same day at 1500 hrs from Swaraj Dweep to Port Blair have been cancelled. Passengers those who have purchased their tickets for the above sailings have been informed to cancel their tickets and get full refund.

Port Blair, Sept. 13: The Andaman & Nicobar Administration will be observing ‘Hindi Fortnight-2023’ from September 14 to 28, 2023 in its offices and educational institutions. 'Hindi Diwas' will be celebrated in all Govt. offices and Educational Institutions on Sept.14, 2023. As part of the observance, various programmes have been chalked out for officers, employees of the Administration and students. To begin with, a Hindi Workshop for Nodal Officer (Official Language) and dealing staff (Hindi) of various offices of A&N Administration will be organized in the conference hall of Secretariat tomorrow (Sept.14) at 10 am wherein they will be briefed about Official Language Policy of GoI and duties and responsibilities of Nodal Officer (OL).

Port Blair, Sept. 13: General public, business entities and stakeholders of A&N Islands have been informed that due to maintenance activity, the GSM Mobile Services of BSNL will be temporary not available on 15.09.2023 from 0000 to 0300 hours. Approximate downtime will be of 3 hours. All efforts will be made to minimize the downtime window to the least extent possible. During the period, the voice and data services of BSNL 2G, 3G & 4G will be affected whereas landline, broadband and leased line services will be available.
