Port Blair, March 1: It has come to the notice of Indira Gandhi Open University (IGNOU) that some unscrupulous persons impersonating themselves as officers/officials of IGNOU are contacting Learners of IGNOU for making payment for Examination Fee, Issue of Duplicate Grade card and Degree, Transcript, Verification of certificates, Project & Practical Fees, Revaluation, Photocopy of Answer sheet etc., through personal emails or telephonic calls & other mode etc. It is informed that IGNOU never authorizes any person for collecting money towards Examination Fee, Issue of Duplicate Grade Card and Degree, Transcript, Verification of certificates, Project Fees Reevaluation, Photocopy of Answer Sheet etc. the learners are advised pay fee related to above activities through official website of IGNOU http://ignou.ac.in only.

Port Blair, Mar. 1: The vessel Sindhu will sail for Chennai on Mar. 3 at 0900 hrs from Haddo Wharf. Excess baggage will be loaded from 1400 hrs to 1600 hrs on Mar. 2. Embarkation of passengers will commence from 0700 hrs to 0800 hrs on Mar. 3. The embarkation of passengers will be closed one hour before the schedule time. Passengers reporting late will not be allowed to board the vessel.

Port Blair, Feb 29: Referring to the Vacancy Notice issued by Education Department A/769/2023 - RMIS CELL- EDN_AN /65435/1010 dated 14.02.2024 for 413 posts of Primary School Teacher in Various Mediums, the Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma today mentioned that as per the notified recruitment rule for the posts of Primary School Teacher, the upper age limit for the candidates without any kind of relaxation is 30 (thirty) years which gets extended upto 40(forty) years in respect of DRMs, contract employees and teachers engaged under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan in terms of A&N Administration circular no. 45/1998-PW dated 19.09.2011.

Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands has deeply mourned the demise of Dr. Govind Ram (retired anaesthetist at GB Pant, Port Blair), aged 92 years who passed away on 29 February 2024 at G.B. Pant hospital after prolonged illness.

He prayed for eternal peace for the departed soul and for enough strength for the members of the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss.
