Port Blair, Nov. 24: The Grand Finale of the Talent Hunt Competition in Port Blair, an extraordinary display of the diverse talents of school children, reached a triumphant conclusion on 23 Nov 23. The event, hosted at the Dweepika Auditorium, featured an impressive array of performances including dance, singing, solo acts, yoga, instrumental performances, and group dance, with participation of a total of 150 students. The competition, a joint initiative by the Defence Wives Welfare Association (DWWA) and Navy Children School, underscores their commitment to nurturing creativity and talent within the community. Mrs. Latha Saju, President of DWWA (A&N Region), graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

Port Blair, Nov. 24: On 21/11/2023, acting on a specific intelligence input received from reliable source, Police team comprising of SI Parvash, Head Constable Sanjit Madhu & K. Venkateshwar Rao, Constables N. Thangaraj, Chandran, K. Rajendran, Nanak Singh and Lady Home Guard Saramma of PS CCS conducted raid at Japan Road, Dairy Farm and seized 4.69 grams Methamphetamine from the possession of Sathya Priyan S/o Shri. N. Chandran (24) yrs, Pvt. Driver R/o Dairy Farm near Japan Road. He was arrested on the spot after observing all codal formalities.

Port Blair, Nov. 24: The vessel MV Swaraj Dweep will sail from Port Blair to Vizag on 26.11.2023 at 1000 Hrs from Haddo Wharf. Excess baggage will be loaded from 1400 Hrs to 1600 Hrs on 25.11.2023. Embarkation of passengers will commence from 0800 Hrs on 26.11.2023. The embarkation of passengers will be closed one hour before the schedule time. Passengers reporting late will not be allowed to board the vessel.

The Election Commission of India has announced the schedule for Special Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Roll with reference to 01.01.2024 as the qualifying date with a view to prepare an accurate, error free and healthy electoral rolls. The focus of this exercise will be on registration of all eligible electors especially youth, females and other marginalized section of the society. The current Summary Revision of electoral roll – 2024 is more important because this is the final ahead of General Elections to Lok Sabha due in early part of 2024. As such, 100% error free enrolment is required to be achieved so as to conduct the Lok Sabha Election in free and fair manner.
