Port Blair, Feb 18: The five-day peripatetic training programme on ‘Office Management  including Office Procedure, Noting and Drafting, Record Management & Service Book’ for Head Clerks, Higher Grade Clerks and Lower Grade Clerks of Amalgamated Clerical Cadre working in various Department of A&N Administration conducted by the Administrative Reforms & Training Wing of A&N Administration in association with the Institute of Secretariat Training & Management (ISTM), Department of Personnel & Training, Govt. of India, New Delhi concluded with a valedictory function held in the Conference Hall of Tagore Govt. Port Blair, Feb 16: The third "Samir Acharya Memorial Award function for Conservation of Coastal and Island Ecosystems" was organised today at Bageecha – an Andaman Chronicle initiative, by the family of Late Samir Acharya. This year the award was bagged by Ms. Garima Poonia who runs an NGO in the name of Kachrewale.  

The award was presented by Smti. Geetanjali Acharya to Ms. Garima Poonia in the presence of Shri. Farookh Alam, Shri. Meherzaad, Smti. Susan and Smti. Pushpanjali Raju.

Port Blair, Feb 16: The Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Chief Secretary, Andaman & Nicobar Administration to post an additional Staff Nurse at the Blood Bank of G B Pant Hospital to ensure uninterrupted and efficient service delivery.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, the Member of Parliament mentioned that he has received reports from General Public that the Blood Bank unit at G.B. Pant Hospital is facing certain challenges due to understaffing. As per information received from patients, currently, the Blood Bank unit at G.B. Pant Hospital operates with only one staff nurse, leading to difficulties for the general public who wish to donate blood and avail other related services.
