Port Blair, Feb 19: The cargo vessel MV Chuglam will sail for Campbell Bay via Little Andaman, Car Nicobar, Chowra, Teressa, Katchal & Nancowry on 24.02.2024 (Sat) at 0900 Hrs from Haddo/ Chatham Wharf and will sail for Port Blair immediately after discharging/ loading of Cargo at the respective ports. Booking of cargo for the above sailing will commence from 21.02.2024 onwards beween 0900 Hrs & 1300 Hrs at Commercial Wing.

 

New Delhi, Feb 18: In a momentous celebration on 17 Feb 2024, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, the Member of Parliament representing the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, has been honoured with the prestigious Sansad Ratna Award for the third consecutive year at New Delhi. The award was conferred by the Governor of Telengana, Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan, State Home Minister Shri. Ajay Mishra, Chairman of OBC Commission Shri. Hansraj Ahir and Retired Supreme Court Judge Justice KC Kaul. This remarkable achievement has once again brought immense pride to the people of Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

Out of the vast array of 543 Lok Sabha MPs and 250 Rajya Sabha MPs, only five distinguished individuals have been chosen for this prestigious accolade, with Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma standing out as one of the illustrious recipients.

 

Port Blair, Feb 18: A live session on how to deal with stress during exams, aimed to support the students appearing their boards was conducted by Pankh, a local based NGO on 17th Feb 2024 at Hotel Driftwood, Port Blair. The live session on the theme ‘Stress Free Exam – Let’s Celebrate them’, was inspired by the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s call to the students to celebrate exams like festivals.  

 

Port Blair, Feb 18: The President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu will visit Andaman & Nicobar Islands from February 19 to 23, 2024.

On February 19, the President will lay a wreath at the Martyr’s Column and visit the Cellular Jail Complex and Museum. She will also witness the light and sound show at the Cellular Jail.  Later, the President will visit Dr BR Ambedkar Institute of Technology, Port Blair to attend a civic reception to be hosted in her honour.

 

Port Blair, Feb 18: Indian Naval Ship Cheriyam, an indigenously built water Jet Fast Attack Craft, participated in the 37th Indo-Thai Coordinated Patrol (CORPAT) with His Majesty’s Thailand Ship Prachuap Khiri Khan (552), an offshore patrol vessel from 14-15 Feb 24. The ships underwent various exercises to enhance coordination and reinforce maritime links between the two countries, ensuring a safe and secure Indian Ocean Region while upholding freedom of navigation and suppressing unlawful activities.
