Replies to Kuldeep Rai Sharma’s Question in the Parliament
Port Blair, Dec. 20: In response to concerns raised by Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma, the Member of Parliament of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, regarding the construction of a bridge connecting Chatham Island and Bambooflat Island, Union Minister Shri. Nitin Gadkari has provided an update on the status of the project.
In a reply to Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Shri. Nitin Gadkari acknowledged Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma's representation under Rule 377 during the Lok Sabha Debates, with the subject “proposed 4.3 km bridge, inclusive of approaches, aimed at connecting Chatham Island and Bambooflat Island in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands”.

Port Blair, Dec. 20: A delegation of Congress leaders under the leadership of Mr. Rangalal Halder, President, ANTCC and Mr. TSG Bhasker, Chairman, Campaign Committee, ANTCC called on Rev. Father Visuvasam Selvaraj, Bishop of Port Blair and held deliberations with him.

Launches daily flights connecting Port Blair to Bengaluru and Chennai
Port Blair, Dec 20: Akasa Air, India’s fastest-growing airline commences operations from Port Blair, the capital of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, operating daily flights between Bengaluru and Port Blair via Chennai, with no change of aircraft required. The inaugural flight on 15 December 2023 departed Veer Savarkar International Airport in Port Blair at 10:35 am arriving at the Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru at 14:50 hrs, with a stop at Chennai International Airport in Chennai at 13:00 hrs. These strategically planned routes will enhance connectivity between the tourist hub and two major routes.

Port Blair, Dec. 20: A delegation of Bharatiya Janata Party Led by its State Vice President, Shri M. Vinod along with Smti Milly Roy, Pradhan, Urmilapur, Shri Bisnu Mondal, Panchayat Samity Member, Urmilapur and Shri Ankit Mirdha, State Secretary, BJ Yuva Morcha met Shri Keshav Chandra, IAS Chief Secretary, A&N Administration today at his office.
The delegation discussed various issues pertaining to Urmilapur Panchayat and the Chief Secretary after listening to the delegation has assured to look into all the issues raised by the delegation at the earliest.
