Port Blair, Dec. 8: The Regional Institute of Education, NCERT Bhubaneswar in collaboration with State Institute of Education (SIE), Port Blair conducted a 5 days Capacity Building Programme on Learning Outcomes in Social Sciences for the Secondary School Teachers from Dec.4 to 8, 2023 at SIE, Shiksha Sadan Port Blair. As per NEP 2020, the main objective of the programme is to develop understanding on concept and importance of learning outcomes of Social Sciences and to design and use learning resources, pedagogy and assessment strategy relating to Learning Outcomes in Social Sciences at Secondary Level.

New Delhi, Dec. 7: Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, the Member of Parliament, A&N Islands today raised a crucial issue concerning the welfare of 1195 casual mazdoors of PBMC in Parliament (Lok Sabha).

The Member of Parliament highlighted the longstanding predicament faced by nearly 1195 casual mazdoors, who were employed by the Port Blair Municipal Council since 1999 as Daily Rated Mazdoor with Rs. 50 as their daily wage.

The electricity consumers and general public have been informed that power supply will be suspended to create safe corridors for electricity feeders and tie lines. In view of this, the Electricity Department will exercise line clearance and pruning of dangerous trees standing at Austinabad Dog squad, Austinabad village, Austinabad junction, Brookshabad and Corbyn’s Cove area complete on Dec. 9 between 8 am and 2 pm, to avoid power disruption and prevention of electricity faults.

Port Blair, Dec. 7: The Andaman and Nicobar Command (ANC) celebrated the 75th Armed Forces Flag Day with a spectacular ceremony at Brichgunj Military Station. In a poignant tribute to the unwavering bravery and sacrifice of our armed forces, a majestic 108 feet high mast National Flag was proudly hoisted at the heart of the Military Station.

Air Marshal Saju Balakrishnan, AVSM, VM, Commander-in-Chief Andaman and Nicobar Command (CINCAN), inaugurated the monumental 108 ft flag. In addition to senior officers of the ANC, Maj Gen Ashim Kohli (Retd), CEO of Flag Foundation of India was also present during the occasion.
