Mumbai, Dec. 13: Team Andaman & Nicobar has taken part in the recently concluded MIXED martial arts national held by ProMMA league in Mumbai from 7 to 10 December. A total of 25 states has taken part in this event. Andaman & Nicobar had 4 athletes representing it. Out of the four Master Jaishish has secured 2nd place in under 10 44 kgs division, Master V Varun Rajan could secure a place only in semi-final, Mr Mohammed Arshad and Mr M veera Pandi could only reach semi-finals. Out of four participants three train under Mr N jagadeka Varma at Champions Zone Muaythai and MMA club.

Rangat, Dec. 13: On December 12, 2023, swift action was taken based on a vital tip-off received by PS Rangat, leading to the uncovering of a significant illicit liquor production operation in the dense jungle of Shyamkund, Bakultala. Inspector R.K Mazumder, SHO PS Rangat, promptly formed a specialized team as part of the ongoing efforts to crack down on illicit liquor manufacturing. The diligent team, consisting of PCs Pranab Halder, K Samir, Yashwant Rao, and Ct Subol Bepari executed a meticulously planned raid, venturing deep into the dense Shyamkund forest.

Port Blair, Dec. 13: Taking into account of LPG Consumer's Safety and prevention of any accidents at Marriage Halls/Restaurants/Eateries & other Commercial Establishment, all such business entities have been advised to take adequate precautions during handling of LPG cylinders including use of standard commercial hose and stove as per ISI standard specification, which would immensely boost in averting any untoward incidents.

Diglipur, Dec. 13: CPI (M) Diglipur Area Committee has organized a Mass Dharna on 12th December, 2023 afternoon in front of the Assistant Commissioner’s office at Diglipur on various issues of people of North Andaman. Party leaders and workers of Diglipur area participated in the programme which was led by AVA Samad, Sunil Bepari, Dilip Karmakar, KP Paul, Anil Halder and Abhiram Mazumdar. The issues highlighted during the programme are (1) failure of BJP government in completing the NH4 work (2) repair/renovation of rural roads in North Andaman, (3) proper and sufficient drinking water to the people of North Andaman (4) to create job for unemployed youth, (5) to make available fertilizers, seeds, etc. to farmers at reasonable prices, etc.

Port Blair, Dec. 13: The Directorate of Social Welfare organized an Awareness-cum-Fitness Programme as part of ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan’ at Jogger's Park on Dec.10. The fitness programme aims to create drug awareness and encourage a healthy lifestyle among the participants. The program was attended 60 beneficiaries including children from two Child Care Institutions and general public. The event was conducted by Shihan Shri M.S. Murgan.
