Diglipur, Sept. 14: Continuing its crackdown on the illicit liquor, Handia, illegal sale of IMFL & illicit drugs, the District Police of North & Middle Andaman with the help of local informers conducted regular raids and searches in jungles.
During the month of August-2023, the teams of various Police Stations, headed by SHOs and Sub-Inspectors conducted raids & massive jungle search operation. In these search operations, around 400 litres of lehan & 51 Kgs Handia were destroyed and also 281 Nos. IMFL bottles of different quantities have been seized and 26 persons were arrested under Excise Regulation cases.

Port Blair, Sept. 14: As part of 150th birth anniversary of Sri Aurobindo, the Department of Art & Culture organized a programme on the Life & Teachings of Sri Aurobindo at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya today. The objective of the programme was to create awareness among young generation about Sri Aurobindo's life, teachings and his spiritual journey.

Port Blair, Sept. 14: The Fisheries Training Centre, Marine Hill, Department of Fisheries in association with ICAR-CIARI, Garacharma and Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Aquaculture (RGCA), Kodiyaghat and with the financial assistance from National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB), Hyderabad under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) will be organizing a three days Training Programme on ‘Mud Crab fattening and Shrimp Farming’ from Oct. 18 to 20, 2023.
