Port Blair, Sept. 20: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has demanded release of ship schedules for Car Nicobar Islands 15 days in advance for the benefit of residents of Car Nicobar, Government Servants and other passengers.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, the Member of Parliament mentioned that the recent successful berthing of MV Sindhu and MV Nalanda at Car Nicobar has brought new hope for the residents of Car Nicobar Island.

Mayabunder, Sept. 20: The Executive Engineer, NACD, APWD, Mayabunder has informed that the Bailey Bridge constructed across T V Kulam Nallah is under severe distress due to excessive corrosion and the experts from IIT Guwahati has certified that the bridge is unsafe for motorable vehicles and pedestrians. In view of this, the Executive Engineer, NACD, APWD, Mayabunder has requested for closure of the bridge to avoid any untoward incident.
