Port Blair, Dec. 5: In a well appreciated move towards promoting sports, culture and community events, the Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma on 03.12.2023 inaugurated LED Flood Lights installed at Birdline Playground, Prothrapur, Ward Number 23 under MPLADS funds.

With an aim to engage youths of the region in constructive activities like, sports, cultural activities and promotion of sports and cultural activities in the area, the Member of Parliament had sanctioned the work for installation of LED Flood Lights at Birdline Playground, Prothrapur, Ward Number 23 under MPLADS funds. During the inauguration he urged people of the area specially youths and children to make maximum use of this facility as a large area around Prothrapur does not have such a huge ground with LED flood Lights facilities.

Baratang, Dec. 5: On 05/12/2023, during sea patrolling by the staffs of PS Baratang, it is found that some sawn timber was kept abandoned inside the Mangrove tree near Khadi Bashti. On this, Police party comprising SI Surjit Bhattacharjee, SHO PS Baratang, ASI K. Ram Babu, HC Christ Nichale, PCs M. Ashok Kumar, Dinesh Kumar, Ramesh and Anup reached the spot and on suspicion recovered 12 Pieces of sawn timber plank measuring 0.459 CBM and seized them under Indian Forest Act, 1927.

Port Blair, Dec. 5: On 04/12/2023, acting on a specific intelligence input received from reliable source, a Police team comprising of Inspector Vishal Ram, SHO PS Central Crime Station, SI Parvash, Head Constable Sanjit Madhu & Sanjay Kujur and Constables N. Thangaraj & K. Rajendran of PS CCS conducted raid at Hotel ACC, Mohanpura and seized 7.246 Kgs of Ganja from the possession of Animesh Ezzedder, R/o Nabagram, Kalighat and Bacha Das R/o Subhash Gram, Diglipur who were staying in a private hotel in Mohanpura. They were arrested on the spot following due procedure.

Port Blair, Dec. 5: In continuation to the arrest made in 32.83 grams of Methamphetamine seized on 29/11/2023, one more accused namely Kuldeep Singh S/o Late Satpal Singh (27) yrs. R/o Goalghar has been arrested on 04/12/2023 under NDPS Act 1985 after getting sufficient evidence.

From his interrogation, it has been cleared that he used to consume drugs as well as to sell it at lucrative prices to the youths. Today was produced before the Court and his Police Custody remand has been obtained for sustained interrogation to unearth the source and further involvement of other persons.
