Eligible 18+ Voters may Apply for Inclusion in Voter List; Application will be Processed only after June 6, 2024

Port Blair, April 15: The Chief Electoral Officer, A&N Islands, Shri B S Jaglan, IAS, today informed that fake news on inclusion of names in voter list is circulating among general public by various platforms.

In this regard, CEO informed that the final Electoral Roll for the General Election 2024 has been finalized and published on 27th March 2024 (Last date of nomination) and thereafter no inclusion of names in electoral roll shall be made till 06.06.2024 i.e. on completion of election period.

Port Blair, April 15: All concerned have been informed that the Election Commission of India has notified the period between 7 am on 19th April, 2024 (Friday) and 6.30 pm on 1st June, 2024 (Saturday) as the period during which conducting and publishing or publicising exit poll by means of the print or electronic media or dissemination in manner whatsoever, the result of any exit poll in connection with the General Elections-2024, shall be prohibited.  

Port Blair, April 15: Aligned with the Fit India Movement, the Andaman & Nicobar Fire and Emergency Services organized a Yoga session at the Fire and Emergency Services Headquarters on April 15, 2024, as part of the Fire Service Week from April 14th to April 20th, 2024.

Port Blair, April 15: Special Excise raids were conducted by Police Station Central Crime Station from 6th April to 14th April 2024 to curb the sale of illicit liquor. As an outcome, Police team consisting of Head Constables Sanjit Madhu, Sanjay Kujur, S. Baroi, Constables K. Rajendran, N. Thangaraj, Amos George, Y. Srinivas Rao, Chandran & PC Kavita Dutta have seized 151 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and 36 bottles of Beer from the possession of 07 bootleggers. The bootleggers were arrested and Case under section 32 Reg. III of 1876 have been registered at PS CCS against them. The raids were conducted under the command of Shri. Kumar Abhishek, Dy.SP (CID) and under overall supervision of Shri Rajeev Ranjan, IPS, SP(CID).

Voters urged not to carry any such gadgets with them to Polling Station

Port Blair, April 15: The Election Commission of India has issued strict standing instructions that no cellular (mobile)/cordless/wireless phone sets, are allowed inside the Polling Stations and also in the 100 meters perimeter of Polling Stations by the voters while exercising their franchise in order to maintain the secrecy of voting process.
