Port Blair, Oct. 13: The one-week compulsory training course on Coastal and Marine Biodiversity of Island Ecosystem for the Indian Forest Service (IFS) Officers conducted by Zoological Survey of India, Port Blair during 9th – 13th, October 2023 culminated on 13th October 2023.  The training course organized in collaboration with Department of Environment and Forests, sponsored by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India.  Total of 21 service officers from different States & Union Territory including Daman & Diu, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Kerala, Maharashtra, Nagaland, Rajasthan, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.

It has been observed that Cyber fraudsters have started duping people in the name of unpaid electricity bill. The fraud campaign is being aggressively spread using SMSs. Users tend to be less skeptical of text messages, so Smishing is often lucrative to attackers looking for credentials, banking information, or private data.

Port Blair, Oct. 13: In the Recruitment Examination conducted on 16/07/2023 to fill up the vacant Group B (NG) & Group C posts of Transport Department, a total of 1009 candidates appeared in the recruitment examination conducted at 4 centres in the South Andaman District.

Based on the evaluation of the Answer sheets (OMR), the statement of scores secured by the candidates along with scanned images of OMR sheets have been uploaded in the e-recruitment portal www.erecruitment.andaman.gov.in and will be available online to access w.e.f 14/10/2023 from 11 am onwards.

Port Blair, Oct. 13: The Prevention of Cruelty of Animal Act, 1960 has provision for alleviation of suffering of animals. There are various Rules under the PCA Act 1960, which address issues concerning cruelty to animals. Section 11 of the PCA act 1960 prohibits confining animals in unreasonably small spaces. In this context, use of gestation/farrowing crates for pigs is not recommended.

Campbell Bay, Oct. 13: In terms of the provision contained under Section 135C of the Representation of the people Act 1951, the Deputy Commissioner, Nicobar District has ordered that 15.10.2023 (Sunday) Date of Poll and 17.10.2023 (Tuesday) Date of Counting will be observed as ‘Dry Days’ in connection with the ensuing Bye-Election to Gram Panchayat Members Laxmi Nagar Constituency of Laxmi Nagar Gram Panchayat Under Campbell Bay Tehsil which is Declared on 15.10.2023 (Sunday) between 8 am and 4 pm during the poll hours and day of counting on 17.10.2023 (Tuesday).
