PS Chatham Solves Mystery of Burning New Born Puppies

The team of Police Station Chatham has finally solved the mystery of burning five puppies alive at Teal House Government accommodation and arrested a Doctor from ANIIMS for having committed the gruesome crime.  

Port Blair, June 5: On 03/06/2020, a written complaint was received from Dr. Hemant residing in Teal House, Delanipur that 05 nos. puppies have been burnt alive in front of his room no. 205 by some unknown person. On receipt of written information, a case crime no. 51/2020 dt. 03/06/2020 U/s 428/429 IPC r.w.s 11 of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960 was chalked out at PS Chatham and the investigation was taken up immediately.

The Police team along with Forensics team rushed to the spot and collected crucial evidences. The carcass of the puppies was sent for Post Mortem examination. During investigation and sustained interrogations, one suspect Dr. Sourav Misra, 29 yrs, Doctor in Medicine ANIIMS, R/o Room no. 212, Teal House, Delanipur has confessed to the crime. He had set fire to the puppies using petrol from his bike as he was irritated with the presence of dogs in the premises. He was arrested immediately by police team of PS Chatham. This blind case was solved due to the strenuous effort put by SI Manoj Lal, I.O of the case and all staff of PS Chatham under the supervision of SI Gaurav Banerjee, SHO PS Chatham.

The entire operation was carried out under the supervision of Shri. Narra Chaitanya, IPS, Assistant Superintendent of Police and overall supervision of Shri. Ravi Kumar Singh, IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District.
