Port Blair, Sept. 6: State President, Bharatiya Janata Party, Shri. Ajoy Bairagi met the Commissioner Cum Secretary Education, Andaman & Nicobar Administration and requested to provide justice to the PST Candidates who have been waiting for the last two years to get the job. Their recruitment was cancelled after the entire procedure for recruitment has been over and just before issuing of appointment orders.

Bairagi during the meeting and also in his letter mentioned to the Commissioner Cum Secretary Education that the validation of the CTET for these candidates are going to expire and fresh recruitment is like race between rabbit and tortoise.

These candidates have passed out their 12th Standard during the academic years 2004-08 and it is not fair for them to compete with candidates passing out now in CCE pattern in between 2015-19 batch.

Bairagi has taken a clear stand and has requested the Commissioner Cum Secretary Education, Andaman and Nicobar Islands to issue appointment orders to all the 198 selected candidates whose last process of certificate verification was also completed.

He further said that the medium certificates of these candidates should be verified and if found in accordance with the recruitment process, the appointment orders be issued. He also mentioned that there is no second way to fill vacancy in a short period and hiring the teachers on contract only hampers the education as said by a former Education Director.

Shri. Ajoy Bairagi also submitted a written letter requesting issuing appointment orders to all the 198 selected candidates for the post of PST. The stand of the Bharatiya Janata Party was made clear and it was strongly pressed to withdraw the cancellation of the posts of Primary School Teachers.

The Commissioner Cum Secretary Education gave a patient hearing and assured that appropriate action will be taken as per the rules.
