Port Blair, Oct. 1: Shri. Ajoy Bairagi, State President, Bharatiya Janata Party, Andaman and Nicobar Islands has expressed his gratitude to the Director of Transport and other authorities for accepting his request to allow two passengers in Authorickshaws.
On 29th of September, Bairagi had written to the Director of Transport and other authorities asking them to at-least allow two passengers in the Autorickshaws operating in the Islands in the interest of the Autorickshaw drivers who are facing a lot of difficulties because of the one person rule.
The very next day the Director of Transport ordered to allow maximum of two passengers in a Autorichshaw.
Bairagi has appealed to the Autorichshaw Drivers to ensure that the passengers boarding their vehicles are maintaining proper hand hygiene. They should also ensure that the passengers are wearing proper face cover and are maintaining social distancing. He also appealed to all the Citizens to properly follow COVID-19 protocols while boarding and travelling in an Autorickshaw.
