Port Blair, Oct. 13: To strengthen the preventive measures of ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Shri Vijay Singh IPS, DIGP, A & N Islands along with Shri Rajeev Kumar, IPS SP(D) Nicobar visited PS Campbell Bay.

The DIGP stressed upon the preventive & enforcement measures to contain the spread of COVID-19 pandemic in Great Nicobar Islands. He took stock of the COVID-19 situation in Campbell Bay and also interacted with police personnel in a Sampark Sabha which was held to redress the grievances of the Police staff.

He stressed on the need of the hour to maintain COVID-19 appropriate behavior and to follow the directions of Govt. of India. He focused on the need to wear masks, maintain social distancing and hand hygiene.

He briefed all the field staff to be proactive and to prepare for the ensuing festive season as per COVID-19 guidelines of Govt of India and A & N Administration. He also stressed for active participation of the local communities/PRIs and to promote door to door awareness campaign, maximum use of vehicle mounted loud speakers. He emphasized to popularize the “Jan Andolan Campaign” on COVID-19 launched by Hon’ble PM of India. He also stated about implementation of Unlock 5.0 guidelines but taking all due precautions.

SP Nicobar Shri Rajeev Kumar IPS, also highlighted the need for continuous efforts for COVID enforcement in order to contain the pandemic in the islands. He lauded the efforts of PS Campbell Bay team in the strict enforcement done by the Police staff.  Shri Prashant Choudhary DANIPS, SDPO Campbell Bay concluded the session with a vote of thanks.
