Port Blair, Oct. 14: To strengthen the preventive measures of ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Shri Vijay Singh IPS, DIGP, A & N Islands along with Shri Rajeev Kumar, IPS SP(D) Nicobar visited PS Campbell Bay and interacted with Corona Warriors and local leaders to strengthen the fight against Corona Virus. Shri Vijay Singh, IPS stressed upon the preventive & enforcement measures to contain the spread of COVID-19 pandemic in Great Nicobar Islands.

He praised the Corona warriors i.e doctors, ANM staff, COVID enforcement officials, Administration staff, Police Officials for their role in containing the pandemic. He about the Jan Andolan campaign launched by Hon’ble PM whereby the focus has been laid on three things- to wash hands with soap/ handwash, use of face mask and maintenance of 2 gaz ki doori. He also briefed the gathering  about the recent UNLOCK 5.0 guidelines and related precautions.

SP Nicobar Shri Rajeev Kumar, IPS also stressed on the need for early detection of COVID infected patients, their treatment and also the post COVID care. In this regagrd, AC Campbell Bay, Shri Mukesh Kumar, DANICS  and Dr Ambedkar, Sr Medical Officer, PHC Campbell Bay explained the COVID treatment procedure and their pro-active quarantine policy.

Sh Vijay Singh, IPS told AC Campbell Bay to prepare a special task force comprising of police, administration staff, defence personnel, forest officials to monitor, cooperate  and carefully examine the COVID related challenges in the Great Nicobar Island.

The PRI’s of Campbell Bay also promised to extend their full support to administration and police department’s efforts in the containment of the virus for the upcoming festivals.
