Port Blair, Oct. 15: The Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Commissioner-cum-Secretary (Education), A&N Administration for early consideration of the pending matter regarding issuances of re-engagement orders of total 744 Part Time staff (i.e. 297 Pre-Primary Teachers, 51 Craft Instructors, 99 Attenders and 297 Ayas) in the education department for the academic session 2020-21.

However, since most of them have already joined and performing their duties as per the verbal instructions of their Head of Schools/ Institutions when the academic session for 2020-21 commenced from 17th July 2020 but their re-engagement orders are yet to be issued. 

The MP further said that in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic, their livelihood already affected to meet their daily routine needs due to absence of income sources rather than the salary from the part time job in which they are working in the same manner since last 15-20 years.

Citing the situation, Kuldeep Rai Sharma has specifically requested to consider this pending issue at the earliest to secure their engagement for the academic session 2020-21 and payment etc.
