Port Blair, Nov. 22: As part of the “Prashasan Aapke Dwaar” initiative, under the aegis of the District Administration, South Andaman, revenue camp courts were held by Shri Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman in the Community Hall, Ograbraj, Gram Panchayat Mithakhari and at the Community Hall, Calicut Gram Panchayat. Shri Hari Kallikkat, IAS, SDM (SA) and other officers of the District Administration and line departments attended the camp court.
Besides general issues concerning the day to day lives of the residents, many revenue matters were taken up for consideration and appropriate instructions were passed on to the revenue field staff. Ex-PRI members attended the camp courts and raised various issue like de-silting of check-weir at Mithakhari for augmenting water supply, development of Sona Pahad check dam, immediate repair of road from Ograbraj Junction to Saitan Khari Junction and resolving Revenue-Forest Boundary disputes.
The DC (SA) directed the concerned APWD authorities, who were present at the camp to speed up the administrative process so that the said projects can be executed immediately.
Villagers at both the camps raised the issue of earth cutting permission for bonafide use, felling of dangerous trees and inordinate delay in getting their land subdivided. DC (SA) assured that a suitable mechanism shall be devised and actions shall be initiated for early disposal.
The applicants, who had applied for various e-Tehsil services like, Mutation, Record Entry Correction, Income Certificate, Local Certificate and Senior Citizen Certificate etc., were handed over the same during the Camp Courts. Besides this, specific instructions were also issued to the concerned revenue field functionaries in response to various petitions filed by the residents of the village regarding demarcation and other services.
The Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman directed the revenue field staff to follow up on all the matters those were placed before the Revenue Camp Court.
