Port Blair, Dec. 23: The Vice-Chancellor of Pondicherry University has granted approval for 2 more special chances (January 2021 & June 2021) for the students who are yet to complete their courses through Directorate of Distance Education (DDE) and also through twinning programmes to enable them to complete their courses as detailed below, based on the requests made by the students.
As a special case, their exams will be conducted through online mode from 18.01.2021 to 23.02.2021 (first chance) on working days. The students will be provided Question Papers through online and the students will be writing their examinations from home so that it will be convenient for them and also would prevent any spread of COVID-19.
All the MBA students of the Academic Year 2005-06 to Calendar Year 2016 and students of M.Com, MA (English, Sociology, Hindi) from 2014-15 batch to 2016 Calendar year batch who have already exhausted the maximum prescribed period for completing the degree are granted two more chances by the Vice –Chancellor (i.e. one in January 2021 and another one in June 2021 examination sessions) in order to complete their courses by re-registering themselves. The procedure for re-registration is uploaded on the University Website. The last date for submission of examination application forms and re-registration is 31st Dec. 2020.
Those students who have already registered for II and IV semester and have some arrear papers in I and III semesters and wish to write examinations during January 2021 examinations can also apply. Studetns have to send another application from I and III semester arrear papers along with requisite fee. But the fee of Rs. 50/- for mark statement is not required to be paid once again.
The exam details for the June 2021 session will be informed during May 2021. Students are requested to follow the website for notifications.
During the last two months DDE has been conducting Personal Contact Programme Classes in the form of Weninars and a large number of students have participated in the online classes. The recorded video lectures are on DDE website so that the students who have missed the webinar classes can listen to them.
All the study materials have been made available online so that students can access them during the pandemic period. The revised time table is uploaded on the University Website.
