Classes in TGCE to Commence From 1st January

Port Blair, Dec. 27: The students admitted to first year B.Ed. Degree Programme and four years integrated programme in Education  in Tagore Government College of Education Port Blair during the current academic session are hereby informed that Andaman & Nicobar Administration has ordered reopening of Colleges outside containment zones for regular academic activities for the students of first year courses for the academic session 20-21  with effect from 01st January 2021 by strictly adhering to the SOP/Guidelines for reopening of colleges after COVID-19 lockdown issued by the Administration.

Accordingly, first year classes of two years B. Ed degree programme and four years integrated programme (B.A., B.Ed. and B.Sc., B.Ed.) in Tagore Government College of Education, Port Blair will begin from 1st January 2021. The college has made all preparations to start the first-year classes by strictly adhering to the Standard operating procedure/Guidelines issued by the Administration. Attendance for the classes is not enforced and students will be allowed to attend the classes only with the written consent of the parents. Preparations have also been made to provide Hostel accommodation to the eligible students who come from outer islands.

Detailed guidelines to the students on the matter has been issued to the students through WhatsApp groups. All students admitted to the first-year courses during the academic session 20-21 are therefore requested go through these guidelines before attending the classes. However Online/Digital platform shall continue to the preferred mode of teaching. The students of senior batches are also permitted to attend the college for taking guidance/ doubt clearance from teachers only with the written consent of the parents.
