More than 4000 Job Seekers Selected During the Mela

Port Blair, Dec. 27: An overwhelming response was received for the “Job Mela” organised by the District Administration in association with Andaman Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ACCI) at the ITF ground.

Around 2500 job seekers attended the fair and were recruited by various companies and private firms. The mela provided a platform for employers to meet potential candidates in person through the job mela.

Altogether 2450 forms were issued, out of which only 1103 applicants were interviewed due to inclement weather on the first day. 132 candidates were given spot appointment and 209 were issued job offer letter within the salary package starting from 1.8 lakhs to 4.5 lakhs.

A total of 600 job seekers were selected during the “Job Mela” organised by the District Administration in association with Andaman Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ACCI) at ITF ground in the last two days of the Mela.

More than 4000 job seekers had attended the mela and 243 were given spot appointment and another 344 were given job offers by various agencies. Remaining selected candidates are being shortlisted by the recruiting agencies and will be called as per the requirements.

Candidates from various inter islands also attended the mela. In view of the overwhelming response for the mela, the District Administration has decided to conduct more such melas in the future for the unemployed youths.

District Administration has expressed sincere gratitude to one and all who made the best arrangements for this programme in such a short time, specially ACCI.  The District Administration appreciates the spirit of all the recruiters and wishes all the success to the participants who made this mela a huge successful event.

Besides the job seekers, the job mela has given companies/ firms an access to large untapped potential candidates. The event has given employers robust platform to recruit employees who are educated in specific subject areas. The common public has appreciated the efforts of the District Administration and the ACCI for organizing the Mela.
