Port Blair, Dec. 30: Kaja Moideen, a ladies tailor by profession located at Aberdeen Bazaar, is one of the satisfied recipients of Self Employment Loan under DAY-NULM scheme in Port Blair. Moideen has been running a small rented tailoring shop for past 15 years all by himself.

With his hard work, his reputation grew and he gained popularity attracting more and more customers. To fulfil the demands of everyday rising number of customers, he felt the need for setting up extra sewing machines and hiring helping tailors to meet the demand of work. But he was faced with financial crunch, which did not allow him to move ahead with his plan.

It was in the midst of this crisis that he came to know about the Self Employment Loan under DAY-NULM scheme. Without further delay, he applied for the individual loan of Rs 2,00,000 in Municipal office.

This receipt of this micro credit facility helped him to install three more sewing machines in his shop and he could hire two tailors to assist him. His transformation into an employment giver has increased his self-confidence and self- esteem.

He expresses his gratitude for Administration and PBMC for timely assistance which has helped him to further nurture and expand his business.
