Port Blair, Feb 21: Motivated by the UN secretary general Antonio Guterres’s call in April last year for a halt to “horrifying global surge in domestic violence” during the lockdown, Women’s Wing of the Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) has launches a 10-day ‘Strong Family, Strong Society’ nationwide campaign with a view to establishing peace within the family and the society across the country. The campaign will run between February 19 and 28, 2021.

As a part of this campaign JIH women's wing Andaman Zone organised an open to all elocution competition for ladies on the topic " How will I make my family strong" on 19th February 2021 at Panchayat Hall, Wimberly gunj.

The program started with the recitation of holy verses of Quran by Miss. K V Sameena. Mrs. Mubashira, Pesident of Girls Islamic Organisation of India (GIO) Andaman zone welcomed the gathering. Mrs. Ashifa  introduced the rules and regulations for the elocution competition.

The competition was presided by Dr. Ankita Banerjee, MO, PHC Wimberly Gunj and Mrs. E Saira Banu, Principal, Crescent Senior Secondary School  as judges. Mrs. P K Zainab, President JIH women's wing Andaman Zone and Mrs. M K Jameela, secretary Presented momento to Dr. Ankita Banerjee and E. Saira Banu respectively.

Dr. Ankita Banerjee appreciated the initiative taken by JIH Women's wing in organising a campaign on the burning issue of domestic violence in present scenario. Nearly 09 participants presented their views on the the above topic.

The program was moderated by Miss. Nausheen, President, GIO, Wimberly gunj. The program concluded with the vote of thanks by Miss. Zainab, Secretary, GIO, Wimberly Gunj.
