Port Blair, April 12: The District Administration in coordination with the NGOs and other Civil Society Organisations is taking proactive steps to intensify the vaccination drive in South Andamans.

A meeting was convened under the chairmanship of Shri Suneel Anchipaka, Deputy Commissioner (SA) along with representatives of all major NGOs wherein he urged them to mobilise resources to intensify the vaccination drive to get maximum number of people during the TIKA Utsav.

The DC(SA) appealed to the organisations to come forward and reach out to the general public at their door steps and motivate them to get themselves vaccinated at the nearest health centres/COVID vaccination centres. He further assured that the District Administration will provide all assistance to NGOs in getting the general public vaccinated without any hassles and even provide mobile vaccination teams for persons with co-morbidities and other problems who cannot reach out to the vaccine centres.

He urged the NGOs and Civil Society Organisation to lend their active and wholehearted support to the District Administration in the fight against the pandemic.

The DC also further reiterated that five-fold strategy of Testing, Tracing, Treatment, COVID appropriate behaviour and vaccination should be meticulously implemented by everyone in South Andaman.
