Port Blair, April 13: In continuation of the District Administration’s drive to reach doorsteps of citizen, Shri Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, Deputy Commissioner and Assistant Commissioner (SA)/SDM (SA) visited the rural areas of Manglutan and Chouldhari village. The team requested public aged 45+ to take COVID vaccination to fight against the COVID -19 pandemic.

The “Tika Utsav” is being celebrated from 11th April to 14th April 2021, in which massive public participation has been witnessed for vaccination. Till date 32,757 number of vaccine doses have been administered under South Andaman District.

The Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman along with Assistant Commissioner (Settlement) also visited the COVID Care Centre to oversee the infrastructural arrangements, facilities for in-patients, food arrangements etc. set up at DBRAIT in the evening.

DC (SA) in his statement requested the general public to support administration in spreading awareness among the 45+ aged nears & dears to take Covid vaccine to restrain the spread of COVID-19 and reiterated the five-fold strategy of Testing, Tracing, Treatment, COVID appropriate behavior and vaccination to be meticulously implemented in South Andaman District.
