Port Blair, April 15: The Andaman & Nicobar Cricket Association has recently concluded a 45-day cricket coaching camp, in which a total of 80 boys participated within the ages of 13-19. The boys were not only from Port Blair but also from rural areas of South Andaman viz. Bamboo flat, Wimberlygunj etc. The coaching was conducted by Shri Nazar Raheem, from Kolkata who is BCCI accredited and a trained A level coach.

The camp was held at the grounds of KV1, Port Blair and Mahatma Gandhi Int’l School, as well as Bamboo flat, Panchayat ground.

At the concluding function held at the auditorium of KV1, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament, A&N Islands graced as the Chief Guest. Addressing the gathering, the MP complimented and hailed the efforts of the association and provided assurances that he would use his influence and resources for the development of sports in the islands, particularly cricket.

He extended his support to create an indoor practice facility for cricket, so that the youngsters of the islands, could pursue and practice cricket all year round. ANCA President Shri Mohamed H Jadwet and Sect Shri Aslam, spoke on the occasion and provided details of the camp. Certificates were also presented to all participants.
