HRS Commences Saplings Planting to Commemorate Birth Centenary  

Port Blair, July 4: The Hindu Rashtra Shakti, Andaman & Nicobar Islands has decided to start a campaign to plant saplings across the South Andaman district from Sunday. The campaign is being taken up to commemorate the birth centenary celebrations of HRS ideologue Deen Dayal Upadhyaya.

On Saturday, HRS members of North & Middle Andaman held a meeting to make the plantation drive successful. It was decided to plant five saplings in every booth area. The booth-level members have been asked to plant five saplings and send photographs to Shri Amar Kumar Singh, National Secretary or Shri Rakeshwar Lall, State President.

HRS members were also asked to properly nurture the saplings. The campaign will end on July 30. Dr. P.K.Mandal, State General Secretary, Shri Dilip Kumar Das, District President, Shri N.C.Mazumder, Jeet Halder and the entire team planted sapling done in ward no 3, from Shitala Temple & Govt. Primary School, Harinagar.

Rakeshwar Lall said that members of all the booths have been asked to plant five saplings each in their areas. The HRS has taken up plantation campaign with an objective to maintain greenery. The prevailing weather condition is helpful for plantation. Shri Angshuman Roy, State General Secretary (Youth) called upon the members to to involve more and more people in the campaign. Dr P K Mandal, State General Secretary would monitor the drive and compile. Shri Sanjay Kumar, Executive Member said that the HRS aims to plant more than 10,000 saplings across the Islands.
