Billiground, Oct. 3: 2nd October every year has its own importance making the birth anniversary of two great personalities who put their whole life and soul for the country, Father of our nation Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi and Swargiya Lal Bahadur Sashtri who coined the famous slogan "Jai Jawan Jai Kisan".
The birth anniversaries were celebrated by the Hindu Rashtra Shakti in Govt. Middle School, Billiground in a simple manner.
Commencing the program, Shri. Hiralal Halder, Head Master welcomed the gathering comprising of teachers, students and HRS members. Smt. Swapna Baroi, PST highlighted the life teaching of Gandhiji and the sacrifices made by both the leaders.
Dr. P. K. Mandal (State General Secretary, HRS (N&M Andaman) was guest of honour who shared his knowledge about Mahatma Gandhiji. Dr. Mandal put forth the objectives of HRS and stressed the need for the students to learn the real history of our country and involve themselves in talking forward our culture rich traditions to the coming generations.
Shri. Dilip Kumar Das, District President and an active member of HRS organized the whole program which was coordinated equally by the other active members S/Shri. Niranjan Ch. Mazumder, Nirodh Behari Mistry, Jeet Halder, Mahadev Majumder, Nepal Bhatto, Advocate Akash Bepari, and Gauranga Nandi.
About 15 students from the economically weaker section were given the stationery items consisting Note books, Geometry box, School bags etc.
The school management of Govt. Middle School, Billiground appreciated Dr. P.K. Mandal and his teams for their tireless and selfless working nature during crisis.
The event concluded with the rendition with vote of thanks by Shri Mritunjay Biswas, PST and finally National Anthem.
