Port Blair, Dec. 7: The NTPC Ltd organized a state-level painting competition in collaboration with the Ministry of Power & Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) under the National Energy Conservation Campaign in order to create awareness about energy conservation among school children.

About 200 students across the schools of A&N Islands participated in the competition held at Marine Community Hall, Port Blair on dated 06.12.2021. The competition was divided into two groups viz. school students of Class V, VI & VII in Category-A and Class VIII, IX & X in Category-B. Prize distribution ceremony was held on the same day at Marine community hall in presence of Chief guest Dr Angel Bhati Chauhan , IAS Secretary (Education/Personnel) and Shri V Karthikeyan, AGM NTPC Ltd

The winners of 1st, 2nd and 3rd position of both the categories were given the prize of Rs. 50,000/-, Rs. 30,000/- & Rs 20,000/- respectively and Consolation prizes of Rs. 7,500/- each were also distributed to 20 participants of this event Winners in the Group A categories are – First prize winner SHIFA KHATUN (UMMAT PUBLIC SCHOOL), Second Prize: BIDISHA MAITI (Naval Children School), Third prize: EKANSHA SINGH (SAGARTIRA SCHOOL).

Winners in the Group B categories are – First prize winner ADITI GUPTA (Naval Children School), Second Prize J. ISHIKA (SARASWATI SHISHU MANDIR), Third Prize MOUSAM DAS (KENDRIYA VIDYALAYA No. 2).

The state level winners’ paintings will be adjudged for Nation level awards on 12th December 2021.
