Port Blair, Jan 10: Together with the rest of the country, the Administration of COVID precaution vaccine dose for Healthcare and Frontline Workers and those over 60 years of age with co-morbidities got underway today. Good number of Healthcare and Frontline Workers and those above 60 years of age with co-morbidities were seen taking the vaccine jab at their respective/ closest Vaccination Centres. As per the data received from the Health Department, 374 beneficiaries were inoculated with COVID precaution vaccine doses in different parts of the Islands today. Accordingly, 293 beneficiaries were inoculated in South Andaman District, 45 were inoculated in North & Middle Andaman District while 36 were inoculated in Nicobar District.

The A&N Administration is making sure that inoculation of Healthcare, Frontline Workers & people above 60 with co-morbidities continues without any hiccups for the safety of the eligible beneficiaries.  The Govt. of India has already issued guidelines stating that no new registration is required to get a COVID precaution vaccine dose. The Centre has informed that the precautionary vaccine dose will be the same vaccine as administered previously in the first two doses.

Those completed 270 days after second dose are eligible to receive COVID precautionary vaccine dose. The beneficiaries have to bring Aadhaar card and second dose certificate copy. The eligible population who have taken two doses of Corona vaccine can directly walk-in to any COVID vaccination centre all over the Islands.
